Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education  and Health education (RSHE)

From September 2020, it is a statutory requirement that all primary schools deliver an RSHE curriculum. At SHMPS, we have spent time carefully considering a suitable curriculum for our children, which delivers the statutory programs of study. The Department for Education have set the expectations for schools to deliver content in a way that is appropriate for the needs of their pupils. The RSHE requirements are statutory for all pupils and parents do not have the right to withdraw their child from relationships and health education. Parents do have the right to withdraw their children from the non-statutory/non-science components of sex education within RSHE.
