Curriculum Visits
Educational Visits Policy
At Smawthorne Henry Moore Primary School, we value the learning opportunities that visits and visitors to school can bring. We work hard each year to review our visits offer so that children can not only enjoy themselves but develop and embed their curriculum knowledge through first hand experience.
Educational Visits
Year 6 - Eden Camp
The children in Year 6 visited Eden Camp as part of their unit of work on World War Two. The day provided a great opportunity for the children to experience what life was like during WWII and use this knowledge to support their English and Topic work.
Year 4 - Murton Park
The children in year 4 visited Murton Park, which supported their knowledge and understanding of the Stone Age and it's impact on the modern day.
Year 2 - Temple Newsome
The children in Year 2 were visited by Florence Nightingale herself. They took part in role play activities, had the opportunity to ask questions and explore her role. The children had the opportunity to discover what life was like during this time and use this knowledge to support their English and Topic work.
